ELLA ANNA FOXON (nee KLIPPEL) 1915 - 2008 Peacefully, surrounded by family Ella passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Riverview Medical Centre at the age of 93. Ella was born in Plumas, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg (Transcona), with her family as a teenager. Ella married Bill Foxon on September 11, 1942 and resided in Hudson, ON where she assisted Bill at the fishing camp until his sudden death in 1981. After Bill's death Ella returned to her roots of Winnipeg and for many years resided at Lion's Place. Ella worked hard her entire life, devoting herself to family, the business and her special bond to all her friends. Ella believed you couldn't have too many friends. Ella cherished her friendships and wouldn't forget a birthday, anniversary or milestone. We treasure the memory of her gentle manner, straight forward opinion, joy in life and her unending desire for the world to be a better place. Ella loved walking, cooking, playing cards and spending time with people. As an avid walker Ella would be seen downtown Winnipeg with her sister Tee burning up the sidewalks making the most of their day. Dear to Ella was her only child known to her as Gordie . On her 90th birthday celebration Ella thanked all of her family and friends who celebrated this milestone with her, but key to her love for life was her relationship with her beloved son Gordie . In her last years, time with family and friends remained central to her life. Ella was predeceased by her loving parents, Phillip and Caroline Klippel (nee Herschfeldt), sister Caroline, brothers, Philip, Charles, William and Edward. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Gordon (Sharon) of Ear Falls, ON; sister Christine Tee of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Anna Klippel of Selkirk, MB; relatives, and too many friends to mention. The family would like to express their gratitude for the love, care and concern that was extended to Ella from the doctors and staff of 3E Riverview Medical Centre and staff at Lion's Place. A special thank you to Dr. P Harris for her expertise and tireless commitment to Ella's care. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to your favourite charity with special consideration to the Palliative Care Unit of Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lion's Place Auditorium (2nd floor) 610 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
